*Warning* If you are my mother, do not read this book. There are things like “F” bombs, sexual tension, and naughty, sexy supernatural creatures. Please don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Overview of Priceless
When children go missing without a trace, there is only one person who can find them.
Welcome to the world of Rylee Adamson, a woman with unique abilities, some wild friends and a unstoppable drive to save those who can’t save themselves.
But when the details of a missing child duplicate that of her worst case, things start to get freaky. And not in a good way.
Yay! It wasn’t me in a reading funk! I finished this book in a few hours and it kept my interest the entire time!
This book is set in a world where the supernatural is very much a part of life, but humans are mostly unaware of it. The main character is Rylee, a Tracker that has vowed to help find children taken by paranormal means. This is a calling to her since her sister was taken when she was younger. The FBI has been tracking Rylee as a suspect in her sister’s disappearance, but have not been able to come up with concrete evidence of her guilt. One FBI agent, O’Shea, has basically become obsessed with proving Rylee’s guilt. He tails her and then gets caught up in her world-the supernatural world. There are werewolves, witches, vampires, trolls, harpies, unicorns, etc.
When O’Shea is blamed for the murder of his partner, he decides to take a chance and partner with Rylee. This book has adventure, suspense, some lust but nothing that was over the top, danger, and so much more. I really enjoyed how Shannon Mayer altered the common ideals of paranormal creatures. The writing was excellent as well as the editing.
Great character development, which brought feeling into the storyline. There are some gory scenes, so it probably isn’t appropriate for immature audiences. I loved Rylee as a main character. She’s a badass with an empathetic side. I am hoping this series continues! The ending made it open for another book, and I really hope the author writes one!
This is my first Shannon Mayer book, but I will most likely purchase some others of hers since I enjoyed this one so much.
I give it 5 out of 5 stars!
